Civil denunciation in the Kalisz district in 1945-1989 in light of archival materials of local authorities
Abstract
Praca charakteryzuje donosy obywatelskie z lat 1945-1989 zarchiwizowane w aktach władz terenowych Ziemi Kaliskiej. Rozprawa ma układ problemowy i składa się z 5 rozdziałów. Pierwszy, omawia specyficzne warunki polityczne, w których dążono do usankcjonowania donosu obywatelskiego, z uwzględnieniem wpływu ówczesnej ideologii i propagandy. Drugi rozdział zawiera rozważania na temat nadawców donosów obywatelskich, jako inicjatorów i kreatorów denuncjacji. W trzecim rozdziale omówiono szczegółowo wszystkie rodzaje zarzutów stawianych w doniesieniach, stanowiących zarówno przestępstwo, jak i występek przeciwko etyce partyjnej. Czwarty rozdział poświęcono ofiarom donosów i ewolucji ich reakcji na fakt, że ktoś na nich doniósł. Zbadano także na kogo donoszono najczęściej i jaki był stopień relacji pomiędzy donosicielem a zadenuncjowanym. W piątym rozdziale określono do jakich instytucji kierowano donosy najczęściej i w jaki sposób prowadzono sprawę celem ostatecznego wyjaśnienia. Donosicielstwo obywatelskie na Ziemi Kaliskiej w latach 1945-1989 było zjawiskiem złożonym i dynamicznym, zależnym od ogólnej sytuacji polityczno-gospodarczo-społecznej kraju, prezentującym także lokalny punkt widzenia na otaczającą rzeczywistość.
The work characterizes citizen denunciations from 1945-1989 archived in the files of the local authorities of the Kalisz district. The dissertation has a problematic structure and consists of 5 chapters.The first one discusses specific political conditions in which civil denunciation was strongly promoted to be legitimized, considering the influence of the ideology and the propaganda. The second chapter considers the subject of the civil denunciation senders, as initiators and creators of denunciation. In the third chapter, all kinds of denunciations have been discussed, including the ones which showed both a crime and a delinquency towards the party discipline. The fourth chapter is dedicated to the victims of denunciations and the evolution of their reaction to the fact that someone reported them. It was also examined who was reported most often and what was the relation between the informer and the denounced. The fifth chapter sets out which institutions were most frequently denounced and how the case was dealt with for final clarification. Civil reporting in the Kalisz region in 1945-1989 was a complex and dynamic phenomenon, depending on the general political, economic and social situation of the country, also presenting a local point of view on the surrounding reality.
