Ksiądz Stanisław Targosz (1911-1944). Kapelan spod Monte Cassino

Abstract

Przedstawiając życie i działalność jednego z kapelanów Armii Polskiej na Wschodzie podjąłem próbę ukazania roli kapłanów – żołnierzy w kampanii włoskiej. Głównie chciałem naświetlić ich wkład przygotowania żołnierzy do akcji bojowych jeszcze na Bliskim Wschodzie oraz duchowe wspieranie w najcięższych chwilach w czasie walk podczas całej kampanii włoskiej. Skupiłem się więc i szczegółowo rozpracowałem dwie najkrwawsze bitwy batalionu ks. kapelana Stanisława Targosza: pod Monte Cassino i nad rzeką Chienti w Monte San Giusto.Układ dysertacji jest prosty. Składa się ze wstępu, czterech biograficznych rozdziałów i zakończenia. Pierwszy rozdział ukazuje środowisko rodzinne ks. Stanisława Targosza na tle informacji etymologicznych związanych z nazwiskiem Targosz.Drugi rozdział obejmuje cztery lata (1939-1943) pobytu na wychodźstwie w Stanach Zjednoczonych i w obozie szkoleniowym w Kanadzie.Trzeci rozdział w czasie najkrótszy, ale w opisie najdłuższy, przedstawiając losy bohatera w mundurze Polskich Sił Zbrojnych na Wschodzie, jest osią rozprawy i ukazuje apogeum jego krótkiego życia.Czwarty rozdział skupia się na podsumowaniu dorobku z krótkiego życia bohatera. Materiał na ten temat okazał się zbyt obszerny i wielowątkowy, dlatego w przyszłości należałoby powrócić do pozostałych kwestii z jego życia. Presenting the life and work of one of the chaplains of the Polish Army in the East an attempt has been made to show the role of priests and soldiers in the Italian campaign. Mainly I wanted to highlight their contributions in preparing soldiers for combat actions even in the Middle East as well as spiritual support in the critical moments during the fights in the Italian campaign. Therefore, the two bloodiest battles of the battalion of Fr. Chaplain Stanislaw Targosz’s: at Monte Cassino and the river Chienti in Monte San Giusto have been focused on and worked out in details. The layout of the dissertation is simple. It consists of an introduction, four biographical chapters and conclusion.The first chapter shows the family environment as well as Fr. Stanislaw Targosz’s etymological background information related to the name Targosz.The second chapter covers four years (1939-1943) of an exile in the United States and Canada training camp.The third chapter, although in the description the longest, deals with the shortest time and shows the fate of the presented character in the uniform of the Polish Armed Forces in the East, is the basis of the discussion, and shows the zenith of his short life.The fourth chapter focuses on a brief summary of achievements of his life. The material on this subject was too broad and multi-threaded, so in the future it would be possible togo back to other points of his life.
