Le poète y aborde des thémes diffèrents, par exemple son amour pour la vie rurale et la passion éternelle pour la fille. Il se sert de plusieurs moyens stilistiques et il s’inspire des oeuvres anciennes ce qui le fait considérer comme un poeta doctus. L’hétérogénité, la richesse en thèmes, ainsi que l’érudition obligent le traducteur de l’élégie I 1 à la traduction un commentaire culturel approfondi.pl_PL
