Methodological foundations of Leszek Nowak’s negativistic unitarian metaphysics.
Abstract
Dysertacja doktorska obejmuje trzy rozdziały: I. Założenia, główne definicje i twierdzenia wybranych modeli negatywistycznej metafizyki unitarnej Leszka Nowaka. II. Metodologia negatywistycznej metafizyki unitarnej. III. Zarys negatywistycznej koncepcji materii.Pierwszy rozdział zawiera streszczenie głównych idei metafizyki unitarnej. Zostały w nim przedstawione podstawowe kategorie metafizyczne (tzn. atrybut, sytuacja, fakt, świat, bytowość, istotność, istnienie, relacja kauzalna, zmiana, rzeczywistość, ciało) oraz główne twierdzenia ich dotyczące. Pierwsza część drugiego rozdziału obejmuje rekonstrukcję metod stosowanych do konstrukcji systemu: metody idealizacji i konkretyzacji, metody dedukcji, metody kryteriów adekwatności i metody parafrazy. W drugiej części drugiego rozdziału przeprowadzam reinterpretację procedury konkretyzacji. Stosowaną przez Leszka Nowaka procedurę konkretyzacji uznaję za procedurę odabstrakcyjnienia. Procedura ta prowadzi do uwzględnienia nowej kategorii metafizycznej, która nie znajdowała się uprzednio w systemie. W moim ujęciu konkretyzacja metafizyczna polega natomiast na uchyleniu założenia idealizującego poprzez wprowadzenie do systemu nowego twierdzenia. Operacja ta pozwala na zdefiniowanie w pierwszej części trzeciego rozdziału nowych kategorii metafizycznych na odmiennym poziomie wyidealizowania: kwantu materii, materii, zmiany kwantów materii, układu fizycznego i materii fizycznej. Druga część trzeciego rozdziału zawiera porównania niektórych pojęć oraz parafrazy tez metafizycznych dotyczących materii i świata aktualnego alternatywnych systemów metafizycznych.
The doctorate dissertation includes three chapters:I. Assumptions, main definitions and claims of selected models of Leszek Nowak’s negativistic unitarian metaphysics, II. Methodology of negativistic unitarian metaphysics, III. Outline of negativistic conception of matter.The first chapter contains summary of main ideas of unitarian metaphysics. This part of the doctorate brings in definitions of basic metaphysical categories (i.e. attribute, situation, fact, world, beingness, essentiality, existence, causal relationship change, reality, thing) and main claims about them. The first part of the second chapter contains reconstruction of the methods which are applied to the system’s construction: the idealization and concretization method, the deduction method, the adequate criterions method and the paraphrase one. In the second part of the second chapter I carry out reinterpretation of the procedure of concretization. I recognize Leszek Nowak’s procedure of concretization as a procedure of lessabstraction. This procedure consists in taking into consideration new metaphysical category that wasn’t a system’s term before. In my point of view metaphysical concretization consists in removing the idealizing condition by adding a new proposition to the system. This operation allows to define in the first part of the third chapter new metaphysical categories on the different level of idealization: quant of matter, matter, change of quants of matter, physical system and physical matter. The second part of the chapter contains comparisons of some notions and paraphrases of metaphysical thesis concerning matter and actual world of alternative metaphysical systems.
