| dc.description.abstract | Praca dotyczy grupy 166 osób, które uzyskały i przyjęły profesurę na UP w latach 1919-1939. Co do kryteriów wyodrębnienia badanej grupy, opieram się na ustawach o szkołach akademickich z 1920 i 1933 roku, które ustaliły kategorie profesorów, sposób ich powoływania oraz ogólny zakres obowiązków. W pierwszej części dysertacji przedstawiłam sytuację polskiego szkolnictwa wyższego w okresie międzywojennym, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem powstania Wszechnicy Piastowskiej. Dążąc do pełnej charakterystyki grupy ujmuję takie jej elementy jak: pochodzenie społeczne i terytorialne, wychowanie domowo-szkolne (elementarne i średnie), wykształcenie wyższe, główne etapy kariery naukowej, a także sytuacja materialna i rodzinna profesorów, ich wzajemne relacje oraz budowanie więzi środowiskowych. Osoby, które zostały profesorami UP przychodziły na świat na terenie trzech zaborów i rozmaitych państw europejskich, choć większość wywodziła się z zaboru austriackiego. Żyły i wychowywały się w rodzinach należących do wszystkich grup społecznych, z przewagą rodzin inteligenckich. Drogi edukacji wiodły je przez rozmaite gimnazja, gdy uzyskały świadectwo dojrzałości wstępowały na uczelnie wyższe na świecie. Odbywały podróże naukowe, podejmowały zajęcia zarobkowe. W międzyczasie stopniowo pnąc się po ścieżkach kariery naukowej, zdobywały kolejne stopnie i tytuły. Ich drogi splotły się w Poznaniu. | pl |
| dc.description.abstract | The thesis concerns the group of 166 persons, who received and accepted a professorship at Poznań University in 1919-1939. As far as the criteria distinguishing the examined group are concerned, I draw on the laws on academic schools from 1920 and 1933, which established the categories of professors, the way of their appointment and the general scope of duties. In the first part of the dissertation I presented the situation of Polish higher education in the interwar period, with particular emphasis on the founding of so-called Wszechnica Piastowska (University of the Piasts). Aiming to provide full characteristic of the group, I have included its elements such as: social and territorial origin, home-school education (elementary and secondary), tertiary education, key stages of a scientific career, as well as the material and familial situation of professors, their mutual relations and establishing professional ties. People who became professors of the Poznań University were born in three partitions and various European countries, although the majority of them came from the Austrian Partition. They lived and grew up in families belonging to all social groups, with a predominance of intelligentsia. Education paths led them through various junior high schools (gimnazjum); after obtaining a certificate of matriculation, they were entered universities across different parts of the world. They were travelling and securing gainful employment. In the meantime, by gradually climbing the scientific career ladder, they were earning further degrees and titles.
