Obraz ludów bałkańskiego wybrzeża Adriatyku we Francji epoki Oświecenia

Abstract

W pierwszej części pracy została podjęta problematyka znajomości geografii bałkańskiego wybrzeża Adriatyku w oświeceniowej Francji oraz definicji etnonimów społeczności zamieszkujących tę przestrzeń. Druga część rozprawy dotyczy znajomości historii ludów zamieszkujących Chorwację, Dalmację, Czarnogórę i Albanię oraz interpretacji ich dziejów dokonanej w duchu historiografii Oświecenia. Należy zaznaczyć, że kwestie znajomości historii i mapy etnicznej zachodnich Bałkanów w oświeceniowej Francji nie doczekały się dotychczas żadnego opracowania. Ostatnią, trzecią część stanowi przybliżenie problemu najszerszego, a mianowicie kwestii postrzegania współczesnych obyczajów i kultury ludów bałkańskiego wybrzeża Adriatyku we Francji czasów Oświecenia. Dotyka ona szczegółowych zagadnień wpływu prasy na kształtowanie się obrazu słowiańskich żołnierzy i hajduków oraz roli, jaką w charakterystyce obyczajowości Morlaków i Czarnogórców odegrała filozofia francuskiego Oświecenia. Ten ostatni problem prześledzony został na przykładzie popularnej we Francji relacji podróżniczej Alberto Fortisa Viaggio in Dalmazia, a także francuskojęzycznej twórczości innych autorów związanych z Wenecją: Justine Wynne Orsini–Rosenberg i Stefana Zanovicia.

The first part of this work concerned the issue of the knowledge of Balkan Adriatic coast geography in the French Enlightenment and the definition of community etnonymes in this area. The second part of the dissertation relates to the knowledge of the history of the people of Croatia, Dalmatia, Montenegro and Albania and the interpretation of their history conducted in the manner of the Enlightenment historiography. It should be noted, that the issues of the knowledge of the history and the ethnic map of the western Balkans in the French Enlightenment have not been yet a subject of any study. Finally, the third part concerns the analysis of the broadest problem, namely the perception of contemporary customs and culture of the people of the Balkan Adriatic coast in French Enlightenment. It concerns the specific issue of the impact of the press on the image of Slavic soldiers and hajduks and the role that the French philosophy of the Enlightenment played in the characteristics of the customs of Morlaques and Montenegrins. The latter problem was investigated on the example of Alberto Fortis’s narrative Viaggio in Dalmazia (popular in France), as well as on the example of other French works, written by authors connected with Venice: Justine Wynne Orsini-Rosenberg and Stefan Zanović.
