Świadomość językowa i stosunek do holenderskiej i belgijskiej odmiany języka niderlandzkiego wśród polskich studentów niderlandystki

Abstract

Niniejsza rozprawa podejmuje próbę zbadania świadomości językowej i postawy językowej wobec dwóch odmian języka niderlandzkiego, holenderskiej i belgijskiej, wśród studentów niderlandystyki na UAM w Poznaniu. Rozdział pierwszy przedstawia świadomość językową, która w tej rozprawie odnosi się do bycia świadomym różnic między holenderską a belgijską odmianą języka niderlandzkiego. Świadomość językową można zbadać poprzez ustne „sprawozdania”, środki subiektywne i zadania na rozpoznanie. Te ostatnie zastosowano w tym badaniu. Rozdział drugi przedstawia postawy, w szczególności postawy językowe. Można je zbadać za pomocą analizy odbioru, miar bezpośrednich oraz miar pośrednich. W niniejszej pracy zastosowano podejście scalające kilka metod. Rozdział trzeci opisuje język niderlandzki, jego dwie odmiany (holenderską i belgijską), różnice gramatyczne, leksykalne i fonologiczne między nimi oraz filologię niderlandzką na UAM. Rozdział czwarty przedstawia pytania i narzędzia badawcze oraz uczestników. Pytania badawcze to: - Na ile świadomi są polscy studenci niderlandystyki różnic między holenderską i belgijską odmianą języka niderlandzkiego? - Jaki jest ich stosunek do tych odmian? - Jakie czynniki mają wpływ na świadomość i postawę językową? - Czy zastosowanie podejścia scalającego różne metody daje bardziej przejrzyste wyniki? Zastosowane narzędzia to kwestionariusz oraz dwa rozbudowane zadania typu verbal guise. Rozdział piąty to opis i analiza wyników, wnioski, przesłanki dla nauczania i sugestie dotyczące przyszłych prac nad świadomością i postawą językową.

This dissertation reports on a study of language awareness and language attitudes towards two varieties of Dutch, Belgian and Netherlandic, among students of Dutch at Poznań’s Adam Mickiewicz University. Chapter one presents the notion of language awareness, which in this dissertation refers to the awareness of differences between Netherlandic and Belgian Dutch. Language awareness can be measured through verbal reports, subjective measures and recognition tasks. In this dissertation recognition tasks were employed. Chapter two focuses on the notion of attitudes in general and language attitudes in particular. Attitudes can be measured through analysis of social treatment, direct measures and indirect measures. In the present study a multiple-method approach was adopted. Chapter three presents Dutch, its two varieties, Netherlandic and Belgian, the grammatical, lexical and phonological differences between them, and a description of Dutch Studies at Adam Mickiewicz University. Chapter four presents the research questions, participants and research tools. The research questions were: - How aware are Polish students of Dutch of the differences between Netherlandic and Belgian Dutch? - What is their attitude to these varieties? - What are the determinants of language awareness and attitudes? - Does applying a multiple-method approach give clearer results? The research tools were a questionnaire and two extended verbal guise tasks. Chapter five includes a description and analysis of the results, pedagogical implications and suggestions for further research into language awareness and attitudes.
