Stereotypy rodzaju jako wyznaczniki funkcjonowania partnerów w stałym związku heteroseksualnym

Abstract

Problematyka rozprawy obejmuje analizę teoretyczną i empiryczną weryfikację zagadnień związanych z tendencją do stereotypizacji rodzajowej jako predyktorem funkcjonowania kobiet i mężczyzn w stałym związku w zakresie komunikacji, zachowań wiążących oraz satysfakcji ze związku. W części teoretycznej pracy przedstawione zostały definicje stereotypów rodzaju i pojęć pokrewnych, treść i struktura stereotypów związanych z płcią, ich funkcje oraz wybrane czynniki i mechanizmy związane z ich powstawaniem. Poruszona została także problematyka funkcjonowania kobiet i mężczyzn w związku. Zaprezentowano m.in. definicje i rodzaje związków, modele relacji związane z rolami płciowymi, omówiono wybrane obszary funkcjonowania partnerów w związku – komunikację, zachowania wiążące oraz satysfakcję ze związku. Metodologiczna część pracy objęła analizę stereotypów rodzaju u kobiet i mężczyzn pozostających w stałym związku, opis funkcjonowania partnerów w związku w zakresie komunikacji, zachowań wiążących oraz satysfakcji z relacji oraz analizę uzyskanych wyników badań nad stereotypami rodzaju jako wyznacznikami funkcjonowania partnerów w związku heteroseksualnym w wybranych obszarach. Interpretacje wyników i wnioski podsumowujące całość pracy zaprezentowano w szerokim kontekście znaczeniowym – m.in. w odniesieniu do teorii gender, teorii społecznego uczenia się, teorii odtwarzania struktury społecznej, paradygmatu ewolucyjnego.

The paper discusses theoretically and provides empirical evidence to the thesis that the tendencies to gender stereotyping play a role in determining the way men and women function in a steady relationship in terms of communication, bonding behavior and satisfaction derived from the relationship. Theoretical part of the thesis presents definitions of gender stereotypes and of related notions; it deals with the content of stereotypes in question, their structure, functions, some factors and mechanisms involved in the process of forming them. The problem of functioning of men and women in a relationship has also been discussed here. The author gives the definitions of the relationships and discusses the relationship patterns, the models of relations in terms of gender roles and some areas of partners’ functioning in a relationship, like communication, bonding behavior and relationship satisfaction. The methodological part of the paper comprises the analysis of the gender stereotypes in a steady relationship, description of functioning of men and women in terms of communication, bonding behavior and relationship satisfaction. It also provides the results’ analysis of the research on gender stereotypes as determinants in functioning of the partners in a heterosexual relationship in chosen areas. The interpretations of the results and conclusions summing up the paper are presented in relation the various contexts like gender theory, theory of acquiring social skills, re-creating of social structure theory, evolutionary paradigm, etc.
