Abstract
Celem pracy doktorskiej było zidentyfikowanie i zbadanie dysonansów w podwójnej twórczości włoskiego malarza, pisarza i dziennikarza, Dina Buzzatiego (1906–1972) oraz roli jaką pełnią w budowaniu niezależnej, trzeciej narracji. W pracy posługuję się terminem zdefiniowanym przez teorie muzyki do opisania artystycznego środka wyrazu, którym autor posługiwał się nie tylko świadomie, ale także intencjonalnie. Twórczość artystyczna Buzzatiego jest nadal mało znana i rzadko badana, a fenomen nazywany tutaj dysonansem był dotąd sporadycznie zauważany, jednak nie poświęcono mu dotąd głębszej uwagi. Analiza struktury dzieł przy użyciu semiotyki strukturalnej a także interpretacja figur retorycznych występujących na poziomie semantycznym umożliwiły nowe i zaskakujące odczytanie tych utworów podwójnych (obrazu i tekstu będącego częścią jednego dzieła), które pozornie nie zgadzały się wprawiając widza/czytelnika w zakłopotanie.
The aim of the doctoral thesis was to identify and examine the dissonances in the double work of the Italian painter, writer and journalist, Dino Buzzati (1906–1972) and the role they play in building an independent, third narration. In the work, I use a term defined by music theories to describe an artistic mean of expression that the author used not only consciously, but also intentionally. Buzzati's artistic work is still little known and rarely studied, and the phenomenon here called “dissonance” has so far been sporadically noticed, but has not been given much attention so far. The analysis of the structure of works using structural semiotics, as well as the interpretation of rhetorical figures occurring at the semantic level, enabled a new and surprising lecture of these double works (image and text being part of one work), which seemingly did not agree, confusing the viewer/reader.
Lo scopo del presente studio è stato identificare ed esaminare le dissonanze nell’opera doppia (costituita cioè dalle immagini e dalle parti letterarie) del pittore, scrittore e giornalista italiano Dino Buzzati (1906-1972) e il ruolo che esse svolgono nella costruzione di una terza narrazione indipendente. Nello studio mi avvalgo di un termine definito dalle teorie musicali per descrivere un mezzo di espressione contrastante che l’autore ha utilizzato non solo consapevolmente, ma anche intenzionalmente. L’opera artistica di Buzzati è ancora poco conosciuta e poco studiata e il fenomeno qui chiamato come “dissonanza” è stato finora notato sporadicamente, ma non ha ricevuto molta attenzione. L’analisi della struttura delle opere attraverso la semiotica strutturale e l’interpretazione delle figure retoriche presenti a livello semantico hanno permesso una nuova e sorprendente lettura di queste opere doppie.
