| dc.description.abstract | Intencją rozprawy doktorskiej pt. Doświadczenie roku 1968 w czeskiej literaturze emigracyjnej jest wskazanie, wyeksponowanie oraz przeanalizowanie obecnych w czeskiej literaturze wątków, odnoszących się w sposób bezpośredni i symboliczny do konkretnego etapu czeskiej historii. „Doświadczeniem” określam następstwa Praskiej Wiosny oraz inwazji wojsk radzieckich w sierpniu 1968 na Czechosłowację, uznając za istotny ich wymiar indywidualny, pokoleniowy i narodowy. Jedną z najważniejszych konsekwencji i jednocześnie znaków szczególnych tego doświadczenia, jest obecna w tytule dysertacji emigracja – posierpniowy exodus intelektualistów, artystów, pisarzy i publicystów w latach 1968–1989. Przedmiotem badań w obrębie rozprawy doktorskiej są dzieła przedstawicieli czeskiej emigracji posierpniowej, z naciskiem na twórczość prozatorską autorów należących do jej „starszej generacji” – Josefa Škvoreckiego, Milana Kundery i Pavla Kohouta. Optyka dyskursu zakłada jednak szczególne wyodrębnianie z ich twórczości motywów „sierpniowych”, związanych z nimi znaczeń, emocji, jak również sposobów obrazowania. Punktem odniesienia pozostaje niezależna publicystyka emigracyjna i krajowa lat 1968 – 1989 oraz reakcje, opinie i oceny roku 1968 po zwycięstwie Aksamitnej Rewolucji w 1989. Wybrana literatura ma więc pełnić funkcję uzupełnienia szerszej refleksji na temat recepcji wydarzeń związanych z sierpniem 1968 roku. Z tego względu zasadne wydaje się zakreślenie tła kulturowego, historycznego i socjologicznego. Reprezentacja powieści, które przywołuję w rozprawie jest sygnałem do refleksji nad rolą literatury emigracyjnej w szerszym kontekście. | pl_PL |
| dc.description.abstract | The main intention of the dissertation entitled ‘The experience of the year 1968 in Czech literature in exile’ is to find, introduce and analyze patterns that are present in Czech literature and that both: directly and symbolically pertain to a very specific period of Czech history. While referring to ‘experience’ I mean the consequences of Prague Spring and the invasion of Soviet armed forces on Czechoslovakia in August 1968, highlighting their individual, generational and national dimension. One of the most important results and subsequently, one of the most remarkable features, of this event is emigration – an exodus of intellectuals, artists, writers and publicist that followed August 1968 and took place until 1989. Research subject within the framework of this dissertation are the works of representatives of Czech emigration, with an emphasis on the literary output of authors belonging the ‘older generation’- Josef Škvorecky, Milan Kundera and Pavel Kohout. The focus of this work assumes however, particular underlining out of their works all ‘August’ motives, as well as subjects, emotions and ways of communication connected to them. The point of reference remains independent publicism (in the country and in exile) from the period between 1968 and 1989, as well as opinions and appraisals after the victory of velvet revolution in 1989. The chosen literature is supposed to act as endorsement for wider afterthought on the reception of events connected to August 1968. Therefore it seems reasonable to outline the historical, cultural and social background. Representation of novels that I refer to in this dissertation constitutes a signal to have deeper thought over the role of literature in exile in broader context. | pl_PL |
