Abstract
Rozprawa jest edycją rękopisu dziennika z polskiego poselstwa strażnika wielkiego koronnego Józefa Sierakowskiego do Stambułu w XVIII wieku, który jest odpisem z początku XIX w. pochodzącym z kolekcji hr. Rajmunda Skórzewskiego, zaś miejsce jego powstania to najprawdopodobniej Waplewo Wielkie, własność Sierakowskich h. Ogończyk.
Rozprawa zawiera również ustalenia na temat autora diariusza, prezentuje uzupełniony biogram Józefa Sierakowskiego. Prezentowany kontekst historyczny przedstawia osoby oraz sytuację polityczną w Polsce i Turcji i wzajemne relacje, politykę międzynarodową, okres walk o tron polski po śmierci Augusta II, które miały wpływ na przebieg poselstwa.
Zaprezentowano także diariusz na tle innych relacji z wypraw poselskich do Turcji w XVII i XVIII wieku; wyróżnia się on dużą ilością opisów mijanych miejsc i lokalnych zwyczajów pozwalając poznać szczegóły codziennego funkcjonowania poselstwa zarówno w podróży jak i podczas pobytu w Stambule.
Dostarcza również informacji o ceremoniale dyplomatycznym, tak podczas oficjalnych spotkań, jak i w czasie drogi.
Integralną częścią pracy jest tekst diariusza w transkrypcji wraz z objaśnieniami a także aneks porównujący treść diariusza z treścią relacji zamieszczonej na łamach Kuriera Polskiego w latach 1732-1733.
The objective of dissertation was to edit the manuscript, prepare it to be published together with a scientific commentary of the historical background of events, circumstances in which the legation took place, presentation of the people involved, the origins of the document and its comparison with other, similar reports from Polish deputations to Turkey in 17th and 18th century. The bibliographic notes the text is marked with, indicate that it belonged to the collection of manuscripts of Count Rajmund Skórzewski but the document was written in the beginning of the 19th century in Waplewo Wiekie. The biography of Józef Sierakowski can be found in the Polish Biographical Dictionary, however the author seems not to have used all possible sources, hence the biography of the Grand Crown Guard may be supplemented. Compared to other reports, the diary of Sierakowski's legation can be distinguished, above all, by containing a large number of descriptions of places and local customs. It presents the details of everyday life of the legation and provides information about the diplomatic ceremony, during official meetings and during the journey. The text of the diary in transcription with explanations as well as an annex comparing the content of the diary with the content of the relation published on the pages of Kurier Polski in 1732-1733 constitutes an integral part of the dissertation.
