Abstract
Książka tradycyjna pojawiła się w XV wieku. Jej powstanie wymagało
szeregu projektów pośrednich. Wszystkie one określane są mianem proto-książek
(inaczej także historycznych postaci książek, paraksiążek), tzn. prototypów książek sensu
stricto, czyli dzisiejszych. Jednakże proto-książki również nie powstały w próżni, lecz
były wynikiem projektów wcześniejszych: pre-książek, które powstawały w czasach
prehistorycznych, czy paleo‑książek, powstających głównie w paleolicie. Sama wreszcie
książka sensu stricto stała się podstawą do opracowania projektów cyfrowych
postaci książek, które określa się jako post‑książki. Celem artykułu jest przybliżenie
najwcześniejszego etapu rozwoju książki, czyli okresu rozpoczętego w paleolicie
(zwłaszcza górnym). Artykuł prezentuje główne kategorie prehistorycznych postaci
książek.
W wyniku analizy dostępnych źródeł literaturowych opracowano aktualny stan
badań w zakresie prehistorycznych początków książki. Realizacja tak zakrojonego
programu badawczego pozwoliła uporządkować wiedzę w zakresie prehistorii
książki. W rezultacie powstało syntetyczne ujęcie prezentujące najwcześniejsze etapy
rozwoju form, które z czasem doprowadziły do pojawienia się w krajobrazie mediów
masowych kodeksowej książki drukowanej.
The traditional book appeared in the media landscape in the fifteenth century. Its emergence required considerable evolution and a number of projects. All of these are referred to as proto-books, i.e. prototypes of contemporary books (also called historical forms of books). Proto-books, however, were not created in a vacuum, but were the result of earlier developments, which can be termed either pre-books because they were created in prehistorical times or paleo-books because they were mainly created in the Paleolithic. Finally, the traditional book became the basis for the development of digital forms of books that are referred to as post‑books. The aim of this article is to approximate the earliest stage of book development, i.e. the period from the Paleolithic (mainly Upper). The article presents the main categories of prehistorical forms of books. As a result of the analysis of available scientific publications, the current state of research in the field of prehistoric origins of book is described. The implementation of such a research program allowed the organization of knowledge in the field of book prehistory. As a result, a synthetic approach was created devoted to the presentation of the earliest stages of the development of forms that eventually led to the emergence of the codex printed book in the landscape of mass media.
