Adult siblings - between common and diverse experience. Strategies for constructing and maintaining friendship
Abstract
Relacja między rodzeństwem jest złożonym i dynamicznym konstruktem. Rodzeństwo wchodzi ze sobą w rozmaite interakcje na każdym etapie życia. Osoba, która posiada rodzeństwo zyskuje wsparcie i możliwość czerpania z doświadczeń brata lub siostry, co będzie miało wpływ na zdolności adaptacyjne oraz skuteczność podejmowanych działań. Z drugiej strony rodzeństwo musi zmierzyć się z problemami wynikającymi z relacji i ambiwalentnymi emocjami. Relacje podlegają zmianie we wczesnej dorosłości. Pojawiają się nowe obowiązki, kontakt staje się rzadszy, ale świadomość posiadania brata lub siostry pozostaje. Niniejsza rozprawa obejmuje problematykę relacji między rodzeństwem na etapie wczesnej dorosłości, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem zaprzyjaźnienia. Relacje wewnątrzrodzinne mają wpływ na funkcjonowanie mezo- i makrostruktur społecznych, dlatego podejmowanie ich analizy jest istotne poznawczo. Relacje nie powstają w próżni, lecz w określonej czasoprzestrzeni i kulturowo-społecznym kontekście. Ze względu na to, że rodzeństwo uczestniczy prawie w każdej sferze życia człowieka, relacje te stają się ważnym elementem indywidualnej biografii. Nie tylko rodzice, ale także bracia i siostry wyposażają młodego człowieka w określone postawy i kompetencje. Praca składa się z czterech części: dwóch rozdziałów teoretycznych, metodologicznego, analizy wyników przeprowadzonych badań oraz podsumowania.
The sibling relationship is an extremely complex and dynamic construct. Siblings interact with each other in a variety of ways at every stage of their lives. An individual who has siblings gains support and the opportunity to learn from the experiences of a brother or sister, which has an impact on their adaptability and effectiveness of taken actions. On the other hand, siblings have to face various problems resulting from the relationship and ambivalent emotions. Relationship changes in early adulthood. New obligations arise, contact becomes less frequent, but the awareness of having a brother or sister still remains. This dissertation covers the issues of relations between siblings at the stage of early adulthood, with particular emphasis on making friends. Intra-family relationships have an impact on the functioning of cognitive and social structures. Relationships do not form in a vacuum, but in a specific time-space and culturalsocial context. Due to the fact that siblings participate in almost every sphere of a person's life, relationship with a brother or sister is an important element of an individual biography. Not only parents, but also brothers and sisters, equip the young person with certain attitudes and competences. The work consists of four chapters: two theoretical, methodological, one presenting the results of my own research and a conclusion.
