Abstract
Celem badawczym jest dokonanie charakterystyki porównawczej dzieł kwartetowych Meyera, w wyniku której byłoby możliwe uchwycenia ewentualnej ewolucji stylistycznej. Tezą podjętej refleksji naukowej jest możliwość wykazania ewolucji stylistycznej w obrębie gatunku kwartetu smyczkowego uprawianego przez Krzysztofa Meyera – 15 Kwartetów smyczkowych i jedno dzieło o tytule Au-delà d’une absence. Niniejsza dysertacja podzielona jest na wstęp, 3 rozdziały, zakończenie, bibliografię, spis przykładów nutowych i spis zestawień tabelarycznych. Rozdział pierwszy – „Krzysztof Meyer – w drodze do komponowania Kwartetów smyczkowych” – dotyczy sylwetki Meyera, którą wyróżniają wielorakie zainteresowania i aktywności. Drugi rozdział – „Kwartet smyczkowy – historia gatunku i stan badań” – prezentuje rys historyczny badanego gatunku, który kształtował się w kilku ośrodkach europejskich, a następnie był indywidualnie uprawiany przez kompozytorów kolejnych epok. Najbardziej obszerny rozdział trzeci – „Kwartety smyczkowe Krzysztofa Meyera w świetle wyników analiz szczegółowych. Między tradycją, awangardą a indywidualnością” – głównym celem analiz była identyfikacja i opis stosowanej w muzyce kwartetowej Meyera jednostki formotwórczej – motywu rytmicznomelodyczno-harmonicznego. Motyw będący najmniejszą jednostką dzieła wykorzystywany jest przez Meyera na dwa sposoby – jako motyw statyczny i motoryczny. W zależności od relacji między partiami instrumentalnymi każdy z motywów może być prezentowany w Kwartetach w dwóch funkcjach – melodycznej lub akompaniującej – co w jeszcze większym stopniu pozwala twórcy na dokonywanie przekształceń adekwatnych dla stosowanych technik kompozytorskich. Wyniki badań udowodniły, że na przestrzeni kilku dekad pracy kompozytorskiej twórczość kwartetowa Meyera ewoluowała.
The research goal is to make a comparative characterization of Meyer's quartet works, as a result of which it would be possible to capture the possible stylistic evolution. The thesis of the undertaken scientific reflection is the possibility of demonstrating stylistic evolution within the string quartet genre practiced by Krzysztof Meyer – 15 String Quartets and one work entitled Audelà d'une absence. This dissertation is divided into an introduction, 3 chapters, a conclusion, a bibliography, a list of musical examples and a list of tables. Chapter one – "Krzysztof Meyer – on his way to composing String Quartets" – concerns Meyer's figure, which is distinguished by multiple interests and activities. The second chapter – "String Quartet - history of the genre and the state of research" – presents the historical outline of the genre under study, that developed in several European centers, and then was individually cultivated by composers of subsequent eras. The most extensive third chapter – "Krzysztof Meyer's String Quartets in the light of the results of detailed analyses. Between tradition, avant-garde and individuality" – the main purpose of analyzes was to identify and describe the form-creating unit used in Meyer's quartet music - the rhythmic-melodic-harmonic motif. The motif, which is the smallest unit of a work, is used by Meyer in two ways - as a static and motor motif. Depending on the relationship between the instrumental parts, each of the motifs can be presented in the Quartets in two functions - melodic or accompaniment - which even more allows the composer to make transformations adequate to the compositional techniques used.
