Abstract
Artykuł zarysowuje e-naukę jako współczesne środowisko dla rozwoju nauk
humanistycznych i ośrodków naukowych oraz interdyscyplinarną płaszczyznę komunikacji
pomiędzy tymi ośrodkami czy ich pracownikami. Przedstawione zostało mocne powiązanie
ogólnego nurtu e-science z działaniami z kategorii Open Access i Open Source.
Ogólny pomysł na e-naukę materializuje się właśnie poprzez coraz szersze propagowanie
tych dwóch kategorii. W artykule nie tylko rozpatrywana jest przyszłość nauki zbudowanej
na „otwartych” podwalinach, ale jest w nim zawarty również zwrot ku teraźniejszym
problemom nauk humanistycznych, związanym m.in. z kolekcjonowaniem źródeł
naukowych i ich fi nansowaniem. E-nauka ma stanowić odpowiedź na takie problemy, jak:
kryzys dozwolonego użytku, kryzys cenowy, kryzys czasopism czy kryzys wydawnictw
naukowych. Opracowanie przybliża także problematykę licencyjną – formalne funkcjonowanie
baz czy repozytoriów. Wyróżniającym się przykładem formalnego uporządkowania
tego problemu jest – niezwykle elastyczny – zbiór licencji Creative Commons. Niektóre
ośrodki już zdecydowały się na użycie tej licencji, aby móc, z jednej strony, udostępniać
swoje materiały, z drugiej zaś – zadbać o zachowanie praw autorskich i racjonalne wykorzystane upublicznionych źródeł. Takie ogólne założenia ideowe czy licencyjne stanowią
dopiero początek drogi dla rozwoju e-nauki. W artykule poruszone zostały kwestie poszerzania
wiedzy oraz świadomości o „otwartych” rozwiązaniach wraz z płynącymi z tego
korzyściami.
The paper looks at e-science within the context of a contemporary environment for the development of the humanities and research centers as well as an interdisciplinary communication platform between these centers or their staff members. The author shows a strong link between the main trend of e-science and Open Access and Open Source activities. It is through the promotion of these two categories that the general conception of e-science is enforced. The paper not only investigates the future of science built on “open” foundations, but also focuses on contemporary problems of the humanities. Among other things, these problems are connected with the collection of scientifi c and scholarly sources and their fi nancing. E-science is a solution to such problems as: fair use crisis, price crisis, the crisis of journals or the crisis of scientifi c and scholarly publishers. This article also gives insights into license-related problems – the formal functioning of bases or repositories. A notable example of a formal settlement of this question is Creative Commons licenses offering a wide range of schemes. Some centers have already decided to use these licenses in order to make their materials accessible as well as make sure that copyrights are protected and the accessible sources are rationally used. Such general ideological and license assumptions are merely the fi rst steps in the development of e-science. The paper also discusses issues of knowledge expansion and the awareness of “open” solutions with all ensuing benefits.
