On the new agricultural co-operative model S u m m a r y The aim of this paper is an attempt to formulate some proposals regarding the New model of an agricultural cooperative. The general assumptions to the draft law on agricultural cooperatives and the definition of agricultural cooperatives is examined, and the new proposals of legal solutions pertaining to creating cooperatives and their organisational matters are analysed in detail. In the conclusion it is stated that the process of adoption of the new cooperative law and the law on cooperatives will be lengthy and difficult. However, a new law and new regulations are necessary in order to increase the competitiveness of Polish agricultural producers who should be encouraged to joint action rather than discouraged by impeding barriers being erected.
