City-based learning – koncepcja uczenia się poprzez miasto. Tło teoretyczne, podstawowe założenia, przyszłe konteksty rozwoju i implementacji
(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2018) Kruszwicka, Agnieszka; Klichowski, Michał
Currently, over a half of the world’s population lives in cities. It is estimated that by 2050 at least 85 per cent of Europeans will have lived in European cities. This trend is related to the fact that today cities are spaces of permanent learning in authentic contexts, which is fostered by the development of new technologies. However, little is known about the city-based learning concept, which is crucial for this type of technology-enhanced learning. Here, we discuss the theoretical background, basic assumptions and future contexts of development and implementation of this idea. Firstly, we demonstrate that city-based learning is contingent on such theories as urban studies, pedagogy of place, as well as urban education, explorative learning, learning outside the classroom, mobility of learning space or on-street activity. Secondly, we show that smartphones, tablets, GPS, educational cloud, and digital textbooks are technologies for city-based learning. We conclude that cities connected to an educational cloud (which is full of educational resources and serves as a platform for educational communication) are unique environments for students equipped with mobile tools. Finally, we point out a new project on a city-based learning implementation.

Terapeutyczne aspekty wywiadu narracyjnego w perspektywie prowadzenia badań biograficznych
(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2018) Karkowska, Magda
The article is devoted to an attempt to present a biographical approach in pedagogical research, taking into account not only exploratory but also therapeutic functions of narrative interviews. The reflectionsfocus of looking for the answer to the question: whether and to what extent telling a story of one’s life (especially marked by traumatic experiences) may contribute to integrating the past and the present, increasing self-awareness, and thus (re-)constructing the narrator’s identity? I ask a question about the conditions to be met in order for the narrator to realize the limitations posed by the past and next to overcome the crisis by pointing out the main motives of action, epiphanies, crises, or breakthrough moments.

Motyw rozstania w literaturze dla dzieci – perspektywa pedagogiczna
(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2018) Kuszak, Kinga
The article discusses searching for solutions related to the university education of preschool and early school teachers in a time marked by intense and unpredictable changes. The fluidreality we live in poses an important challenge for those responsible for teacher training, requiring them to prepare teachers to deal with constant changes and remain open to what is yet to come. In a constantly changing reality, it is difficultto predict which competencies teachers will need in the next decades of the 21st century. It is certainly worth the effort to focus on fostering the passion and developing the personalities of future teachers working with children of preschool and early school age. The education process should also take into account the needs and expectations of the new generation of teachers, representing what the literature of the subject describes as “generation Z”. Apart from including theoretical considerations, the article is an attempt to showcase selected solutions developed at the Faculty of Educational Studies of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan.
