Linguistic pictures of the family in parents narratives. A study of the dynamics of meaning
Abstract
Część pierwsza dysertacji dotyczy teoretycznych podstaw pracy, a część druga zawiera założenia, analizy i prezentację badań własnych oraz zakończenie. W rozdziale I zaprezentowano rodzinę jako kategorię interdyscyplinarną, dokonano również rekonstrukcji dyskursu kryzysu rodziny oraz dyskursu przemian we współczesnej rodzinie. Następnie omówiona została perspektywa konstruktywistyczna i myślenie systemowe. W kolejnych rozdziałach omówiono wybrane kwestie dotyczące komunikacji i języka oraz perspektywę konstruktywistyczną i myślenie systemowe w studiach nad rodziną i komunikacją. Następnie przedstawiono językowe narzędzia opisu świata i interpretacji doświadczeń (w myśleniu o rodzinie i komunikacji) oraz rodzicielstwo jako kategorię praktyczną i teoretyczną (praktykowanie rodzicielstwa jako działanie językowe). W rozdziale V i VI znalazły się szczegółowe analizy takich kategorii jak: narracja, językowy obraz świata, metafora oraz narracyjna tożsamość rodziców. W II części pracy opisane zostały metody, techniki i narzędzia badawcze. Omówiono specyfikę badań jakościowych w pedagogice (w tym podejście biograficzne i konstruktywistyczną teorię ugruntowaną). Zdefiniowana została kategoria: językowe obrazy rodziny (JOR). Główną metodą były wywiady pogłębione, częściowo ustrukturyzowane, w badaniach wykorzystano również metaforę. W rozdziale poświęconym prezentacji badań własnych zostały przedstawione: JO matek i ojców w narracjach rodziców, JOR jako przestrzeni do zaspokajania potrzeb, JO „lekcji” dotyczących rodziny i rodzicielstwa w przekazach transgeneracyjnych, JO dobrej komunikacji w rodzinie, metafory generatywne rodziców tworzące JOR, refleksje rodziców dot. udziału w badaniu oraz JO bycia razem w rodzinie. W zakończeniu uwzględniono wnioski dla praktyki pedagogicznej i edukacyjnej.
The first part of the dissertation presents the theoretical foundations of the work, and the second part contains the assumptions, analysis, and presentation of own research and the conclusion. Chapter One presents the family as an interdisciplinary category and reconstructs the discourse of family crisis and the discourse of transition in the contemporary family. The next chapter introduces the constructivist perspective and systems thinking. The following chapters discuss selected communication and language issues and the constructivist perspective and systems thinking in family and communication studies. They were followed by a discussion on linguistic tools for describing the world and interpreting experience (in thinking about family and communication) and parenting as a practical and theoretical category (practicing parenting as a linguistic activity). Chapters V and VI provide detailed analyses of categories such as narrative, linguistic worldview, metaphor, and narrative parenting identity. Part II of the paper describes research methods, techniques, and tools. The specifics of qualitative research in pedagogy (including biographical approaches and constructivist grounded theory) are discussed. A category is defined: linguistic pictures of the family (LPF). In-depth, semi-structured interviews were the primary method, and metaphor was also used in the research. In the chapter on the presentation of own research, the following are presented: The LP of mothers and fathers in parents' narratives, the LP as a space for meeting needs, the LP of 'lessons' about the family and parenting in transgenerational patterns, the LP of good communication in the family, parents' generative metaphors to form the LPF, parents' reflections on participation in the study and the LP of being together in the family. The ending presents conclusions for pedagogical and educational practice.
