Value system of high school youth in the reality of a globalizing world
Abstract
Praca doktorska na temat „System wartości młodzieży licealnej w rzeczywistości globalizującego się świata” to próba znalezienia odpowiedzi na pytanie o to czy i w jaki sposób przeobrażeniom ulegają wartości i orientacje życiowe młodzieży w kontekście szybko postępujących procesów globalizacyjnych. Globalizacja to zjawisko wieloaspektowe, natomiast grupą szczególnie narażoną na zagrożenia płynące ze świata płynnej nowoczesności jest młodzież. Wiek młodzieńczy to czas poszukiwania własnej tożsamości, prób osiągnięcia niezależności oraz budowania systemu wartości. W niepewnej i zmiennej rzeczywistości zadania te stają się jeszcze trudniejsze ponieważ wyzwania, z jakimi musi poradzić sobie młodzież, docierają jednocześnie z zewnątrz, jak i od wewnątrz. Problematyka okresu młodzieńczego, wartości i orientacje życiowe preferowane przez młodzież są dominującym wątkiem rozważań teoretycznych niniejszej pracy, jak i przedmiotem badań naukowych w niej opisanych. Jej głównym celem jest analiza systemu wartości młodzieży, który pod naporem wielu nowych i dynamicznych czynników zewnętrznych może ulegać częstym przeobrażeniom. Aspiracje i styl życia młodzieży warto analizować i opisywać, jako że stanowią one obraz młodego pokolenia, tak odmiennego od poprzednich. Wartości i orientacje życiowe pełnią rolę fundamentów pod budowę współczesnego społeczeństwa. Świadomość ich istnienia i wiedza o nich, jest zatem warunkiem planowania przyszłych działań zmierzających do tworzenia społeczeństwa przyjaznego, otwartego, dającego szansę na rozwój i wzajemne współuczestnictwo w tym procesie.
The thesis entitled "Values of high school youth in the reality of a globalizing world" is an attempt to find the answer to the question of whether and how the values and life orientations of young people are transforming in the context of rapidly advancing globalization processes. Globalization is a multi-faceted phenomenon and young people are a group particularly exposed to the dangers of a fluid modern world. Adolescence is a time of searching for one's own identity, trying to achieve independence and building a system of value. In an uncertain and changing reality, these tasks become even more difficult as the challenges that young people have to deal with come from both the outside and the inside. The adolescence, values and life orientations preferred by young people are the dominant theme of the theoretical considerations of this work, as well as the subject of scientific research described in it. Its main goal is to analyze the system of value of young people, which, under the pressure of many new and dynamic external factors, may be subject to frequent transformations. Aspirations and lifestyle of young people are worth analyzing and describing, as they are a picture of new generations, significantly different from the previous ones. Values and life orientations are the foundations for building a modern society. Awareness of their existence and knowledge of them is a prerequisite for planning future activities aimed at creating friendly, open society, giving the opportunity for development and mutual participation in this process.
