As a result, it found itself in a state of collapse. It insufficiently obeys such general principles of functioning of contemporary school system as: commonness, permeability, broad profile, flexibility and socialization of education. It is also hard to speak of adapting education to changes in demography, economics, technology, social life and culture, as well as it is hard to say that education supports democratization processes in Poland, or Polish integration with Western Europe. Thus, there is a need of a complex reform in these circumstances, the one which would cover structural and organizational issues, as well as the ones concerning curricula and methods. The author indicates attempts to solve the problems.Item W stronę szkoły jutra(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM Poznań, 2005) Denek, KazimierzThe school of tomorrow is an institution of creative and exploratory education, versatile activity of students, it leads their tutees towards communal and social life. The school in question shapes patriotism in students. One may say the school is developed in terms of civilization, it is wise and friendly towards the participants of the educational process. It equips students with key competences. It concentrates its educational and pedagogical activeness on the realization of 3 European strategic objectives and their 13 subsequent tasks.Item Związek edukacji z wartościami(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM Poznań, 2008) Denek, KazimierzThe word ‘value’ refers in education and educational disciplines to what an individual, a social group think highly of, what is regarded as significant, and what is experienced as significant. Questions about the status and existence of value have not brought solutions. The ontological status of value depends on what we consider its essence. In gaming, attempts to define value appear to be ineffective. It may be worth explaining with constitutive features which goes into its essence. Constructive and universal values are crucial for education and educational disciplines. They are subject of argument escalated by postmodernism. Does the contemporary individual experience a value crisis? Or maybe it is a crisis of the individual, not the value? Values take an important position in the lives of young Poles. Values decide about their existence, sense and quality of living, interpersonal relations, relation to themselves, peers, parents, teachers and the world. Thus, values in education and educational disciplines require regaining their proper position and sense.
