Źródła - język - fabuła(Wydawnictwo Rys, 2016) Rojszczak-Robińska, DorotaThe work is dedicated to the oldPolish Passions, more precisely the three manuscripts: The Przemysl Meditation, Sprawa chędoga and The Rogawski’s Card. The aim of the work was to verify the following views on the relationship between oldPolish Apocrypha: 1. The Rogawski’s Card is a fragment preserved from the earlier copy of Sprawa chędoga. 2. Sprawa chędoga’s author benefited from The Przemysl Meditation. 3. There was a Polish-language Passion (pratext), on which the authors of preserved oldPolish passions based their work. For the Middle Ages, some community of sources is appropriate. Texts circulated in many copies and the originality was understood quite differently. It is difficult to discuss the dependence of so large texts only on the basis of the similarities of fragments. For this reason, this work is focused mainly on showing the differences. It was not the author’s intention to reconstruct that pra-passion, but to show the relationship between the preserved texts. After compiling all the analyzed parallel fragments (ie. corresponding - the same, similar or just telling the same), the analysis were taken from different perspectives: the sources, language and narrative. Interdisciplinarity allowed for a wider look and gave the ability to verify the conclusions of the analyzes carried out on the basis of one field. The first perspective is the perspective of the source. The authors told the same events sometimes by various sources, sometimes using another editorial of the same source. There are doubts whether a common source (or one of the sources) were the Polish language one. The second perspective is the language perspective. To verify the hypothesis of the existence of a direct relationship between The Sprawa chędoga and The Rogawski’s Card only a linguistic analysis turned out to be helpful. It showed that the texts came from a common source, but it could not be the Polish language one. SCh is not a copy of the text, from which remained only The Rogawski’s Card. The differences and similarities between SCh and RP were interpreted, asking, among others, whether they are testimony to conscious choices of each of writers. The difficulty was to distinguish what was typical for the genre of Old Polish apocryphas, from what was appropriate for a single text. Each time the whole text (which served as the context and allowed to interpret the differences and convergences) were taken into consideration. It turned out, eg., that the author of SCh used the Latin word order, while the writer of RP changed it into to natural, keeping Latin word order only in important fragments (as the formulas of the Mass). The texts are different. There are more rhetoric-prepared parts in RP. In this text there is also more prayers, sermons and apostrophes. The third perspective is the perspective of narrative (way of building plot: the arrangement of events, episodes, topics, paragraphs, and finally the order of sentences). It turned out that sometimes writers described the events in a different order or from different Gospels. In RP much more often appeared all types of comments and other passages interrupting main plot, remaining outside the plot, which testify to the awareness and knowledge of the writer. Only confrontation of three perspectives allowed to question the arguments of those, who support the hypothesis of pratext. In addition, it extended the current state of knowledge of the Polish language medieval passions.
