From Philosophy to Filmosophy. Philosophical and Filmic Contexts in the Polish Language Education in Upper-Secondary School after 2001

Abstract

W dwóch początkowych rozdziałach autorka dokonuje przeglądu zawartości programów nauczania i podręczników do języka polskiego, obowiązujących w szkołach średnich w latach 1980-2001 (rozdział I) i na IV etapie kształcenia (rozdział II).
The submitted doctoral thesis is composed of an introduction, five chapters and a conclusion. In the first two chapters, the author deals with the curricula and the contents of the textbooks applied in secondary schools in the years 1980 to 2001 (chapter 1) as well as during the fourth stage of education (chapter 2). This research was complemented by the supplementary information regarding the didactic materials available at that time, dealing with the question of philosophy and films used in the Polish language education. In the 3rd chapter, the author defines the term of a philosophy of the film referring to the acknowledged authorities in this field. Moreover, different methodological approaches concerning the examination of the pieces of literature and the films, including those of a philosophical content, were discussed. The question of the philosophy of the film used as a teaching method applied in the upper- secondary school is examined in the 4th chapter. In this part of the paper the author conducts research into school techniques which are related to the philosophical analysis, in particular the intersemiotic translation method and the problem method. Chapter 5 is an appendix gathering the lesson plans, the film scripts as well as the photos and texts used by the author of this dissertation in her professional career. Finally, the doctoral thesis contains a detailed bibliography including the books, films, educational documents and the articles published in journals.
