Human self-creation in the era of pictorial culture as a new investigative aspect of medial education
Abstract
In the article a self-creative activity of present-day people in the context of complex research on
medial education was considered. On the groundwork of aggregative understanding of media we
described both the root of tensity arising between a man and a medial space and a function of the
above-mentioned space in the following categories: 1. consolidating and supplementing, 2. initiating
and inspiring, 3. motivating and valuating.
On the background of this consideration were analysed semantic relationships of self-creation and
self-accomplishment taken up by people in the medial space. In conclusion we indicated an importance
of a narrative nature of medial transmission as a factor that initiates and stimulates selfcreative
activities of modern people.
