Studenci a polityka. Badanie komponentu emocjonalnego postaw
(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Pawełczyk, Piotr; Jankowiak, Barbara
The liberal democracy assumes that the most crucial factor of system legitimization, the issue of common political participation, especially electoral activity. Realizing this goal is possible through creating the attitudes of participation, mostly among the generation starting the adult life. One of the goals realized on various stages of educational teaching programs is increasing social and political engagement of teenagers, creating citizenship attitude and as a result increasing active participation of the youth in politics. Creating emotional side of the attitude- not only in relations to the politics- is far easier than cognitive or behavioral component. In the subject literature the impact of emotions on creating the attitudes is widely described. In the object literature the role of emotions in creating the attitudes (also political ones) is widely described. Positive emotions in many cases are the conditions for certain behaviours towards attitude objects. It might be assumed that positive feeling about politics and political institutions will result in greater effectiveness in the sphere of political society. This thesis analyses the conditions of students attitudes towards politics and dependencies between experienced emotions and the issues including political engagement, citizenship attitude, nationalistic attitude. The thesis shows mutual changes between them. The question which has been also analyzed is the issue of political socialization subjects in creating positive feelings about politics. The results of the analyses performed showed dominating role of media in creating emotional attitudes towards politics as not traditional socialization agendas such as family, school or church. The results obtained present also what personal and sociodemographic features of the questioned are linked to their positive emotions in the researched area. The most crucial personal property appeared to be optimism, while sociodemographic variable is parents education

The starting point for the discussion on the unique way the students and workers function in an information society is understanding the idea of continuous education and its role in the process of shaping one’s career path. A very important issue of present changes and demands on the job market is also taken up. The importance of modern information technologies in the educational and professional environments of people is the basis for the thought on the need for creating and improving the virtual counselling offer. Determinanty jakości w indywidualnym poradnictwie zawodowym
(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Szłapińska, Joanna
Good quality vocational counselling is a subject of interest to numerous advisory institutions and vocational counsellors alike. Lifelong vocational counselling is both an intrinsic ingredient of human advancement and a stimulus promoting lifelong education. Assistance offered to individuals on their way to successfully recognise and pursue their careers in the ever more complex, postmodernist world has become a serious challenge to vocational counselling. Therefore, the ultimate objective of advisory service is to provide proper lifelong vocational counselling. Its quality is determined both by the level of clients’ satisfaction and the effectiveness of services provided by advisory institutions as well as vocational counsellors’ effi ciency. The following article focuses on problems relating to quality determinants in individual vocational counselling. The single most important subject of the present work is the process of individual counselling as well as the crucial competencies of the service-providing counsellors.

E-learning jako nowe środowisko edukacji: spotkanie ucznia i nauczyciela
(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Kaliszewska-Czeremska, Katarzyna; Matejczuk, Joanna
The aim of this article is to present issues associated with the application of e-learning in the fi eld of education. We presume that the effi cacy, safety, and social perception of e-learning largely depend on its users, i.e. on students and teachers. The greater the willingness and competence of learners and educators to responsibly and creatively apply this method in the education process, the greater the chances of maximizing profi ts and minimizing risks connected with the use of distance learning at different levels of education. We narrow down the issue of willingness to the sphere of self-regulation, an indispensable factor in the process of becoming a conscious learner who is committed to and responsible for his or her own education according to the concept of Lifelong Learning. Availing ourselves of Julius Kuhl’s theory of action control (1987) we demonstrate how certain intrinsic predispositions of students and teachers, related to the implementation of their intentions, may determine a successful application of e-learning methods and, in consequence, foster the process of lifelong learning and support the ability to adapt to ever-changing external conditions.

Menadżer – przywódca. Uwagi o roli dyrektorów szkół w zarządzaniu zmianami
(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Szafran, Joanna
Change is an inevitable part of contemporary reality. The quick pace of life, civilization change and the constant pursuit in not fully known direction can be a worry, but also an opportunity. Complex everyday reality puts education in front of a new challenge. To meet them schools should constantly evolve. Awareness of these trends is a necessary condition for effective leadership. The essence of the deliberations conducted here are thoughts on the role of school principals in the process of change management. Making change is not easy. It requires knowledge of specifi c procedures, understanding the specifi cs of human behavior and ways to overcome the resistance. Roots of developed solutions and patterns of behavior in the organizational culture of the school are also important. The level of knowledge concerning change management and leadership competencies for managers working in education fi eld can serve as the basis for their professional success or failure.

6-latki ze specjalnymi potrzebami edukacyjnymi na starcie szkolnym. Studium różnicy płci w kontekście reformy oświaty
(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Buchnat, Marzena; Chmura-Rutkowska, Iwona
Initiators of the most socially negotiated changes under the current reform of the education system, including the lowering of school age to 6, indicate “bridging the education gap” as one of the advantages of an earlier education. In fact, there is no critical refl ection and discussion on how the education system responds to the diversity of children’s needs and identifi ed areas and risk factors of educational failures on the threshold of school. In the text we pay special attention to two important issues overlooked in the ministerial discourse: a risk factor for school failure defi ned as special educational needs (SEN) and the problem of differentiation of the level of preparedness, experience and school achievements of children based on gender, with particular regard to socioemotional development.

Iluzje inkluzji? Uczniowie ze specjalnymi potrzebami edukacyjnymi w placówkach oświatowych
(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Cytlak, Izabela
This article addresses a signifi cant problem of the inclusion of the pupils with special educational needs in mainstream institutions. Although many years have elapsed since the 1970s, when many countries fi rst began to speak about the idea of integration and inclusion of people with disabilities and those with special needs into social life, there are still problematic situations hindering or even preventing the implementation of the idea of inclusive education (the social aspect is one of the most diffi cult to implement). As researchers note (e.g. Pijl, Meijer, Brzezińska, and Ainscow), there are still many issues that require assistance here. The following refl ection is an attempt to determine the specifi c aspects of the pupil with special educational needs, the teacher, the parent and fi nally the wider educational institution concerning the most problematic issues of inclusive education. The text also indicates the basic guidelines for coping in diffi cult situations.

    Zasoby rodziny a umiejętności szkolne dzieci 6- i 7-letnich
(Wydawnictwo Naukowe UAM, 2013) Kaczan, Radosław; Rycielski, Piotr
The research describes the relationships between family resources and skills necessary for learning mathematics, reading and writing. Family recourses are defi ned as parents’ education background, the number of books and the material wealth of the household. The research was carried out on a national representative random sample of 6- and 7-year-old children (N = 3029). The School-Entry Skills Test (TUNSS) and the parental questionnaire were applied during the study. The level of education of the mother and father is shown to have the strongest impact on the child’s skill level. The variables describing the material status of the family had a relatively strong impact.
